The institute stands on Kakatpur-Nimapara road near Charichhak in the district of puri amidst vast extending green fields with natural abundance of picturesque phenomena. The college its name after the name of Paribrajacharya Sri Sri thakur Nigamananda, the renowned saint and social reformer of India. Charichhak, as the name implies is situated where four road intersects. One runs to Shreekhetra Purianmd opposite to it the road runs to cuttack. Another intersected road runs to kakatpur, famous for the sacred seat of the Mother Goddesses Mangala, the fourth one runs to Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha. The institution is affiliated to CHSE, Odisha and Utkal University, Vani Vihar.this is a veading Non-Govt. Women’s college in the district of Puri.
Area of the Campus :-
The college campus covers about eight acres of lands abounding in coconut trees and many multi colored decorative plants adding beauty and serenity to its environment. Adjacent to the college campus there is a lotus pond enhancing the pristine and divine ambience of the institution.
Contributors :-
Sri Rabindra Kumar Sethy along with some benevolent social workers particularily Late Smt. Labanyarekha Mitra, Deputy Secretary to Govt.of Odisha,CDRR Department are ever remembered for their bounteous contribution for the establishment of the college in 1982. Among others the names of Late Ganashyam Swain, Sj. Sanatan Patra, Sj. Radhashyam Pradhan are memorable. Subsequently the local M.L.As Sj.Benudhar Sethy, Sj.Baidhar Mallick took their sincere initiative for the development of the institution. The present sitting local MLA, Sj. Sameerb Ranjan Dash is extending all kinds of help and cooperation for the upgradation of the college.
Objectives :-
The college is established with an aim to impact higher education along with character building of women students following the foot prints of Sri Sri Thakur Nigamananda Dev through monthly seminars on last thurs day of every month.
Status and Faculty of the College
The college was established in the year 1982 and got Govt.Recognition in the year 1985 followed by CHSE affiliationhaving the subjects like Hist,Pol.Sc, Odia. Later subjects having economics, Sanskrit,Psychology and education were opened. Subsequentially honours subjects like Pol.Sc, History, Psychology, Sanskrit, Economics, Oriya were opened in this college.
In the year 2012 Science stream was opened both in +2 & +3 level. In +2 sciences we are teaching subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and I.T (Information Technology) and in +3 sciences, we are teaching subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology.
The institutions also offer trades like Crèche & Preschool Management and Tourism in Vocational stream. The college provides hostel admission for 100 numbers of students and takes care to groom them on academic and spiritual lines.
At present our student strength was crossed more than 1500. Presently the total number of faculties in different subjects___________ and the total number of non teaching staff is ________
Academic performance of the Students :
Our student in +2 Arts are performing well in Higher Secondary Examination. In the Year 2010, Kumari Monalisa Nayak secured 8th position in the top 10 merit list of the CHSE Examination. We have consistent higher percentage of pass rate every year both in CHSE and University Examinations. Besides to add a feather to the cap of the institution, a number of students have brought laurels and glory both in academic and extracurricular activities like N.S.S, N.C.C, and Sports etc.
